My sole reason for persistence
Is understanding my existence.
I've all but abandoned the hope
In finding a faith that can light my soul.

I've renounced religion for all the harm it does,

We are dead set
In not living bowed down off our feet.
We will all stand for something.
We will stand for the solace of self.

Whoever said such a path can't mean something.
We will prove them wrong.

The martyrs of such ancient beliefs
Are now growing weary of their teachings,
Warped and benign,
And tied to controversy.
All to keep us on our knees.

Or maybe, this was all along a ruse,
A form of abuse to keep us all in line.

But we are dead set
In not living a life on our knees.
We will all stand for something,
We will stand for a fulfilling life.
